Creativity has become one of the most valued personal characteristics in the modern business world. However, not everyone is born with this trait. This still doesn't mean you can't be perceived as a creative individual, even if you're not essentially known as one across your organization.

Your colleagues might appreciate your exceptional technical, organizational, or even leadership skills, but by putting in some time and effort, you can earn your place at the "creative table" and become a great asset when topics that require creative thinking are discussed at meetings.

It's not going to be easy - if you already have a deep reputation - but it's doable. Begin with the simple step of introducing yourself to the concept of creativity. Start reading books like David Burkus’s The Myths of Creativity, or Michael Michalko’s Cracking Creativity.
